This is where it all started, thirty-seven years ago, Temple Tiger Jungle Resort, deep inside Chitwan National Park, at a time when very few had reason to come this far. Values carried forward today, just outside the park’s west sector, on the bank of the Narayani.
We don’t see our guests as a means to an end. They are companions we share our home with, which is why personal service and attention to detail matter here more than any amenity list. It’s a platform for cultural awareness and sustainable tourism as much as it is a place to sleep.
Over 80% of our team comes from the villages that border the resort. A share of what we do funds local school teachers’ salaries and has put medical refrigeration into the nearest health post, because the resort and the community around it were never really two separate things.
The Solar Array
Every villa and common space runs on Nepal’s largest hotel solar installation. It costs more than the grid would; we’ve chosen to run on renewable energy anyway.
The Villages
More than four in five of our staff grew up in the neighbouring villages. We sponsor local primary school teachers and have donated medical refrigeration to the nearest health facility.
The Dance
We’ve long supported a dance troupe from Bag-khor village, Tharu and Bote traditions performed for guests, and kept alive for reasons that have nothing to do with guests at all.
